Winemaker Notes: The 2003 vintage of Domaine de Nizas results from a harvest that was extremely early due to the heat wave of that summer. Despite the extreme climatic conditions of 2003, this wine remains well balanced and elegant. If this is the case, it is thanks to two things: the good capacity for water storage of our terroir linked with a green harvest of the vines allowing a very low yield. With a deep garnet colour, this wine develops fragrant perfumes of blackberries, bilberries, spices and southern herbs evoking the Mediterranean in aroma and taste. On the palate, the wine is well balanced and clean, becoming round and full bodied, before a long finish on soft, ripe tannins. Ready to enjoy now, this wine will be showing itself at its peak of excellence in about 5 years when aged in a cool cellar.
