Wine Review: This bright ruby Pinot from Goldeneye finished in 5th place in our recent blind tasting. On the palate, this wine opens with a spicy black cherry like bouquet with hints of smoke. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is round, a bit acidic, with ripe black cherry flavors with notes of smoke and oak as well. The finish was a bit tart and acidic, and subtle. The panel felt this wine could benefit from a little time in the cellar to integrate. They felt it would pair nicely with roasted chicken with garlic or veal. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This well-balanced, medium-weight wine offers bright acidity and a long, satisfying finish. The aroma is rich and evocative of dark cherries, nutmeg, caramelized apple, cinnamon, and clove. On the palate, it is full of plum, spice, cherry, strawberry, and vanilla oak layers. Though delicate and understated, this wine’s compelling force of flavor, weight, and potent spice create a depth and density that cannot be missed. Drink until 2015.
