Wine Review: Our third place finisher in our recent Pinot Noir blind tasting was this tasty option from Talley. On the palate, this dark ruby wine opens with a spicy raspberry like bouquet with notes of new leather. On the palate, this wine is well balanced and displays rich and concentrated black cherry flavors with a touch of licorice. The finish is dry, has soft tannins, and lingers slightly. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with salmon or pork tenderloin with a brown sage sauce. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Complex aromas of cedar, ripe black cherry and smoky French oak give way to classic black cherry flavors with subtle sandlewood notes on the palate. Lighter in texture than the Arroyo Grande Valley bottlings, the 2005 Stone Corral Pinot Noir matches well with wild salmon, seared ahi, or grilled chicken.
