Wine Review: I have been pretty impressed with the Petite Sirah that I have tried from Australia this year. So I thought that I would enter this wine in our blind high end red wine tasting at the beginning of February. This wine did not disappoint as it finished with a recommended score of 91.39. This opaque dark purple wine opens with a fragrant plum and licorice like bouquet with just a hint of oak and heat. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is rich, smooth, and has extracted plum and black current flavors. The finish is dry, it has very fine tannins, but is not overly lengthy. The panel felt this wine would be best on it own or with beef stroganoff. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This is a new varietal that Charles planted eight years ago. In 2005 the berries were extremely small with thick skins that stained the harvester promising a wine of fantastic color and natural structure.
