Wine Review: This wine seems to perform very well very year. This year it finished in 5th place in our blind tasting of Shiraz and Syrah wines. This wine is dark red and opens with a pomegranate bouquet with anise and caramel like overtones. On the palate, this wine is bright, round, and has building acidity. The flavor profile is jammy black cherry flavors with hints of chocolate and clove. The finish is dry and has tingly tannins. Our panel members felt they would really enjoy this wine with rabbit or pheasant. They also certainly felt this Shiraz was a bargain. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: It was once the tradition of a small group of Barossa pioneers to retreat to the cool stone depths of an old vineyard cottage. Here they would while away many hours playing cards and drinking wine away from the critical eyes of puritanical souls. The cottage still stands among the vines that produce this wine, a fl avorful, aromatic drink that always "comes up trumps!"
