Wine Review: 2005 was a very good year for red wines from the Finger Lakes and this 2005 Reserve Cabernet from Standing Stone finished a very respectable 5th place in our blind tasting of Cabernets. This very dark red wine opens with a mild and pleasant black cherry and fig like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is not overly complex, but it is smooth, easy to drink, and has very dry and dusty blackberry like flavors. The finish is very dry and quite extended. This wine would match well with meatloaf. This wine will be released in Winter 2008. Enjoy – KWGTP
