Wine Review: This ruby red wine opens with a pleasant old world, earthy, and woody bouquet. These scents were more prominent than the mild medicinal cherry fruit aromas that are also present. The bouquet does disapate a bit with some air. On the palate, the wine is very smooth upon entry and immediately dry. There is a generous amount of cherry fruit flavors that explode in the mouth. This was a bit surprising given the amount of oak on the nose. On the finish, the wine has some serious tannin and is quite dry and has some length. This wine needs some time in the cellar. If you want it now you should decant it for at least an hour. It was even better on day 2. I really liked this wine and look forward to seeing how it evolves. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Garnacha, Cabernet, and Merlot from mature vineyards within the village of La Morera. Aged 12 months in second-year American and French oak to produce a poised, modern interpretation of the traditional Priorat style. Bright and focused, more immediately approachable than 'La Planeta.'
